1.2 Using the TBS System

As mentioned in the intro, TBS is only applied to skirmish battles or missions. Therefore, normal battles will still be fought in the original Atlantica Online battle system. However, the hotkeys for skills and movement remains the same. Unlike normal missions, you can revive units using normal healing spells such as Blessings of Life skill. You can also use traps in TBS to disable enemies, and vice versa. Attack scrolls such as Freezing or Judgment scrolls can damage enemies within 5 squares from the unit using it, and can also destroy enemy traps (it will be invisible, but a message will show that you destroyed the trap if it's there).

In skirmish mode, the player's whole formation will enter the battle (up to 9 mercs). There are no enemy traps in skirmish battles, and each enemy party usually consists up to 6 units. Like normal battles, blessing and titles will take effect in TBS as well. Loots will go into the Jackpot challenge or into the inventory. Higher level skirmish mode tends to have 3 party-attack (just like a normal shadow dungeon), and mobs are generally weak to spells. Every type of unit in TBS (including missions) have different speed level (the ability to move more squares in the battle) and range (the distance you can attack from). Spells also either takes effect in the form of a cross damage or a large square of 5x5 (usually for spells that can attack the whole formation in normal battle such as Blazing Earth, etc). Unlike normal combat, ONLY melee units can guard using the 'G' hotkey. If the player wishes to skip a non-melee unit's turn, he has to use the wait hotkey 'F'.

In the TBS mission (Troy/3 Kingdoms), you can choose to play either Solo or Squad. The mission objectives remains the same regardless of solo or squad. Solo mode's mobs deal less damage and unit speed is raised, at the cost of less rewards. Squad mode's mobs deal full damage, and unit speed is at normal rates. Most squad missions allows up to 3 players to participate. During combat, 3 extra icons are added to the panel on the right side of the screen where your skill list is. These icons are the Main upgrades, Stats upgrades, and the Workshop. The main upgrades are a necessary upgrade before you can upgrade any of your 5 stats (speed, range, sight, attack, defence). There are 3 levels of upgrades (for both main and stats upgrades), and the higher the level of upgrades, the more turns and cost it takes to complete the upgrades. The workshop is where you can build catapults (Troy) or trebuchets (3 Kingdoms). Both have cannon attack (cross damage) and possess high range. The cost of upgrades/siege engine cost higher for higher level missions. Mission modes also give loot boxes upon completion. If in solo mode, the boxes go to the player himself and exp is distributed among all the mercs in the current formation. If in squad mode, the boxes go to the commander of the squad. Squad mode gives a lot more boxes than Solo, and exp is rewarded to each player based on contribution points (determined by exp gained from kills and healings)
