1.1 Introduction to TBS

The TBS (Tactical Battle System) mode was introduced on August 2010, and differed from the normal combat system of Atlantica Online. Though both are turn-based, the TBS system allowed wider moving area and comes in 2 different modes: Skirmish and TBS Missions.

Skirmish battles are simply normal battles with the new TBS system. At this point of time, stamina is needed to enter any battle and skirmishes are no exception.

The first TBS missions introduced are the Troy TBS, where it follows the Iliad's story of ancient Greeks conquering Troy. Most of its missions begins from the 3rd chapter of the Illiad, where Achilles withdrew from the Achaean army as a result of a conflict with the leader of Greeks, King Agamemnon. Odysseus acts as the advisor in every Troy mission by briefing the mission objectives to the player. Troy TBS also allows players to recruit Odysseus, the Champion, as a mercenary upon successfully completing his recruitment quest. Odysseus is a Grade A Sword Mercenary with the ability to equip a shield.

Before the next TBS mission (3 Kingdoms TBS, based on the Chinese lore Romance of the Three Kingdoms) was introduced, stamina was removed in one of Atlantica Online's updates, making battles unlimited as long as the player chooses to fight. The 3 Kingdoms TBS was introduced on late April 2011, and focuses mainly on the Battle of Red Cliff. The advisor for 3 Kingdoms TBS is Zhuge Kongming (often called Zhuge Liang). 3 Kingdoms TBS allows players to recruit Guan Yunchang (or often called Guan Yu), the General, as a mercenary upon completion of his recruitment quest. Guan Yu is a Grade A Spear Mercenary.

All TBS mission requires entry fees in terms of gold and TBS points. TBS points is earned if you complete diary objectives, and resets on every Thursday. TBS points determine how many times you can enter TBS mission per week. Every time you repeat the same mission, the cost of TBS points increase by 5.

ie:
1st TBS Run: Spy Hunt - 10 points
2nd TBS Run: Spy Hunt - 15 points
